Alexander House

Very nice stay. The owners are personable and very customer oriented. We had supper in the restaurant and the food was excellent! Our rooms were very clean, quiet and pleasant. All in all an enjoyable and stress free stay, we will be staying again.

The hotel has some wear and tear but it is very clean. There is a liquor store on-site and a restaurant on the second floor. Those who ate there had wonderful reviews. Walleye and steak supper with fresh vegetables. I was told they have Indian cuisine night and the place is always sold out. The staff was very friendly

Decent place to just stay over. If you're looking for amenities this isn't it. Ample parking. Nice enough rooms with a microwave and refrigerator. Bring a hdmi to USB-C cord if you want to stream entertainment. Otherwise, plenty of network/cable channels. It is a little off to the side out of the way, but there are worse things in life. I would stay here again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The heating/cooling filter was clean and I didn't have problems with a stuffy nose in the morning, which is frequent for me at hotels. I had a problem with my shower and they fixed it right away. Very prompt and professional husband and wife team there. A liquor store is on-site so that was convenient too.

I recently took a job in Grafton. I stayed in a hotel in Grafton and was charged too much. I then went to Alexander House in Park River and was met with a much more wallet friendly price with triple the accomodations the Grafton place offered. Daily room cleaning, a restaurant to eat at, soft beds, a good size mini fridge, and friendly hospitality that made me feel welcomed. I stayed here for 2 weeks before finding a place to live. This will be a place I recommend to anyone who needs a place to stay.

Sept 2024: Returned to this great combination motel/restaurant/bar/liquor store. Fast friendly check in. Room was clean. Guest wifi still not working. No in room coffee (or breakfast, pool, exercise room etc). But bathtub worked, TV worked, and we had a quiet sleep. Dinner, just upstairs, was great!! Fantastic service (bartender/waitress/greeter) doing her best though I think understaffed. Loved the salad bar! Steak was great! Sept 2022: We stayed at the hotel, ate at the restaurant and bought at the liquor store. Talk about a one-stop shop! Friendly check-in, ground floor room. Comfortable and good, quiet sleep! No coffee in the room (though there was a machine in the lobby). There was a problem with the hotel internet (authentication problem) and even though I was given the password (twice) it just wouldn't connect. The restaurant (upstairs) was SUPER BUSY! Because it seemed that everyone in town was here, the service was not fast but they were all trying the best they could, so no fault. Food was good. The sirloin steak with tater tots and salad bar was better than the walleye with baked potato.

We had a wonderful week long stay here while visiting family in Park River! The owners are very friendly, personable and extremely helpful. The rooms are well kept, clean, up-to-date and in MUCH better condition than competing hotels nearby. The upstairs restaurant has outstanding food and service; very nice for large parties, events or just a supper out. There's a full bar upstairs, as well as a bottle shop downstairs. Massive selection at both. Each room is equipped with a large mini fridge, a good size flat screen tv, a desk and office chair and your standard bathroom. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom especially and the quiet rooms! The heat/AC unit was especially nice, and powerful for the winter cold. Nicely located just on the edge of town on the highway, close to the nearby farms and business district of Park River. The town closes up pretty early, but the staff here is at the bar/restaurant until around 9pm. If you're in the restaurant, they're nice enough to check if you need any food before the kitchen closes! The only thing this hotel doesn't have is laundry service, but the staff informed us there is a clean and reliable laundromat just two doors down next to the neighboring car wash! We didn't end up needing it, but nice to have it so close by.

The staff is as good as it gets; from the owners to the staff. They are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant food was good and I would recommend giving it a try. The rooms were clean and I didn’t look at the details before hand however I love having a mini fridge in my room. The added touch of a USB charger by the bed is nice.
